5 Steps to Backup Your Old or Deleted Text Messages [SMS] in Android

Backing up your text messages is pretty easy to do through various Android apps.

We use the Free Application SMS Backup +, can be found in Google Play. With this tool, you can actually automatically synchronize text messages with Gmail. To use SMS Backup + you must enable IMAP in your Gmail preferences. This must be done on the desktop (in your browser in Gmail's settings).

Backing up your text messages

After installing the application, do the following:
  1. Enter the credentials of your Gmail account or select your Gmail account.
  2. You then fill in that you want to automatically sync text messages. This is done wirelessly.
  3. Go to the advanced settings.
  4. Indicate that the text messages should be labeled "SMS".
  5. Also indicate how many text messages you want to synchronize, for example, up to 100 messages per backup.
